Tonight I was planning on catching up on the wonderfully busy weekend we had. Clay's birthday was today, so we've been doing a lot of visiting with family.
But early I decided to catch up on the news since I've been wrapped up in everything else this weekend. And what I saw hurt my heart so much that my mind is filled with it. I was reading an article on countercurrents.org about the chaos in Gaza. I found a website that two women have set up that memorializes the people who have died in the conflict so far. It's called humanizepalenstine.com.
And the more I looked at the pictures of the deceased and the stories and descriptions of their happy lives, the more I had to read. Each story brought a tear and after I read more than a hundred, my heart felt so heavy and hurt that I couldn't think of anything else.
How can we live with so much destruction in the world? I can't budget or house clean or go grocery shopping without wondering how many people in the world are deprived of these luxuries...
