Day 5: Your Proudest Moment in About

I don't really know what my proudest moment in life has been. I mean, I have done a bunch of typical pride-inspiring things... I graduated from high school, college, graduate school. I was really good at school. Lots of A's. And standardized tests. But none of those made me swell with pride, especially...

I suppose getting my first full-time teaching job was pretty awesome and made me proud. It was 4 years ago when the economy was still pretty down and there were pretty much no teaching jobs in Portland. I was hired for a full-time position on a temporary contract and it felt pretty amazing. I still remember the day and the phone call (on Aug. 22). So yeah, maybe that?

And then obviously not my proudest moment, but I have a few skill based memories where I remember being proud. Like when you work really hard and something finally clicks? I remember learning how to spin on my skis and I kept catching my uphill inside edge EVERY time and it was super frustrating. And then later that day I just got it right and suddenly figured it out. I did 360s in both directions for the rest of the day. HAHAHA. Stuff like that makes me proud.
