So my mom and I went to a big baby meetup on Friday. Basically I have had a facebook group with these ladies in it since we all first got pregnant. So all of their babies are also 1 or about to turn 1 like Miles. The group has something like 90 women in it from all over Canada. It has been so fun talking to all of these women on facebook and showing pictures of our pregnant selves and then our babies for the last 21 months. There were 13 babies at this baby meetup and the lady who hosted it actually made 13 small cakes so we could line the babies up and do a huge cake smash. It was adorable! And the funny part was that most of the babies reactions were not to dive into the cakes but to cry. Of course Miles joined in. He is the king of crying and was not about to be topped in that department lol. At first when I plopped him down in front of a cake and between two babies he just looked around like "what is going on" and then when the little girl beside him started crying he joined her lol. There were 11 boys and 2 girls and out of all those babies only 1 of them sat there happily dipping his hand in a cake and licking icing off of it. The rest of the babies cried or wandered off. It was fun anyways. I was kind of glad Miles didn't get too messy. He didn't even try to touch a cake. Here's a picture of the event:

My mom and I talked to a few of the ladies, had Miles play with some of the babies and we played with Cody as well (I jumped on their trampoline with them) but the backyard was way too hot and there was nothing to eat so we didn't stay long. It was nice seeing everyone as I've met a few of them before but I just didn't seem to be getting into any interesting conversations and didn't feel like hanging out with a lot of people I don't really know that day so we stayed for about an hour and a half and then left.

Saturday morning we left for Niagara falls with my MIL. We spent the day at Marineland. We got there right when they were opening and took Cody on a bunch of kiddy rides, fed some animals and walked around for a while. It's actually a much smaller place than I remembered it being. I was dying though. It was so hot out I didn't even want to be there at times. I tried my best to enjoy myself though. Cody loved the rides and feeding the animals and Miles was happy just eating snacks in the stroller and looking around for most of the time anyways. My favorite part was the show we went to at the end of the day where the dolphins and seals so flips. That always takes my breath away and makes me wish I was a dolphin trainer lol. Cody watched the whole thing with his mouth wide open. It was adorable lol. What was signifcantly less adorable was having to juggle a wiggly Miles for an hour as we sat in the seats waiting for and watching the show.

At around 4pm we left and checked in to our motel which was a Super 8. I had a pounding headache all of a sudden so I was just lying on the bed for a bit and Mike was looking at me like I was a weirdo. I didn't want to spoil our trip by telling him suddenly I was also feeling nauseous. I told him my headache was awful so he went and got me some Advil and while he was gone I was sick in the bathroom. Him and his mom took Miles thank goodness but Cody wouldn't leave me so of course he was standing in the bathroom staring at me while I was sick even though I told him to go watch TV or something. Ugh. So I ended up going to sleep while Mike and his mom took the kids out for dinner. Mike was so reluctant because he rarely watches the kids on their own and they often cling to me but I basically begged him to take them so I could rest and I was so glad when they were gone for hours.

When they got back to the room around 9:30pm I was feeling quite a bit better already. They all went to sleep right away. Cody was fine sleeping between Mike and I in the queen bed. He looked secretly thrilled about it lol. At 11:30pm Miles woke up and I had to rock him back to sleep but luckily by then I felt fine so that only took 5-10 minutes. Then at 12:00 the stupid alarm clock in the hotel room started going off so Mike quickly unplugged it before anyone woke up. 2 hours later all of a sudden Cody wakes up throwing up. Omg :( I can't even remember the last time he threw up. It's probably been more than 6 months! And of course this one night when we're sharing a bed with him he is sick. I had to wipe him up and I had a bucket right near the bed for me so all throughout the night I would grab the bucket as soon as I heard him start to cough and he was sick around 5 different times. We tried to sleep in between times but he was so fidgety it was exhausting. Luckily he was fine by the morning so we were able to do more things at the falls. I was completely fine too. We went to Ihop for breakfast, then the Maid on the mist (boat ride right by the falls), then the Rainforest cafe for lunch, to the Bird Kingdom (place with all sorts of birds to observe) and then played a few arcade games before we left. It was enjoyable but doing those sorts of things with little kids who want to be held a lot was exhausting. As was keeping them happy in restaurants and in general. Cody was grumpy for a good portion of the day so I was so relieved to get in the car and have a nap on the ride home lol. And now I'm at work counting down until I can leave because I'm tired from being up half the night. We are sooooooo doing absolutely nothing tomorrow. Except maybe slowly unpacking and grocery shopping. Too bad I have no help with the kids this week. Hope they sleep in late today :)
