I'm back at work. After a year off it seems so weird to have to come here again. And totally, completely sucks. I would love to be a stay at home mom sooooooooo much!! But we can't afford it :( Luckily I was able to remember how to do my job since it involves specific tasks and folders and a certain ordered way of doing things. I work at a newspaper editing the online version of the paper before it gets posted online early the next morning. I'm done my work now and just waiting one more hour before I can leave so I decided to write an entry since I'm feeling pretty tired. I usually go to bed at 10:30 latest these days so the fact that it's the middle of the night right now is making my body wonder what the heck is going on. Working nights is DEFINITELY going to take some getting used to. I already had some caffeine too so I don't really want to have more. We were pretty busy today which was probably a bad idea because it exhausted me. While Miles had his first nap, Cody and I went to run a few errands. I returned a few things at Walmart and got a gift card to use later, then I did the same at Target but used the $20 gift card on a big box of wipes and a few other odds and ends. Later on in the afternoon we went to play baseball with our neighbours. We took turns hitting a softball and chasing after it. I got to play here and there but I also had to play with the kids so I was throwing and catching a ball from Cody as well as feeding both of them. It was still fun though and I got a lot of exercise and made it over my 10,000 steps today. My fitbit buzzes a certain way once you've achieved your 10,000 steps for the day and mine buzzed right when I was walking into work. It was really humid out today so at one point Cody and I went over to the splash pad that was in the same park and cooled down. Then later the kids were both melting down for some reason despite the fact that they had naps earlier so I put Miles in the ergo and Cody on his tricycyle and we walked up and down the street a few times. Cody can't really figure out how to pedal yet. He just sits on the seat and pushes himself along and that's the way he wants to do it for now. I wish he would want to try harder to figure out the right way but oh well, what can you do?
I have extra time right now so I was just looking up Niagara Falls hotels for this weekend. I think we should be able to find a Family suite in one of the hotels which is two rooms so then we can all share the room. I usually like to get my own room but honestly we're only going to be in the room to sleep so we might as well save as much as we can by having my MIL in the room with us. Miles still has 3 or 4 bottles a day these days too so that's going to be interesting, making sure I have bottles on hand and making sure I pump 2-3 times a day. sigh He better drink them cold because it's not going to be easy to warm them up when we're going to be on the go a lot.
I'm kind of glad my work schedule is 2 days on then one day off then 2 days on then 2 days off because it'll be nice to have a day off right in the middle of my week so I can go to bed as early as I want that night. I did enjoy having 4 days of work in a row and then 3 off but apparently I can't have that schedule this time. Not sure if I care yet. I'll have to see how it goes. At least my 2 nights off in a row are Friday and Saturday night :)
Did I mention our dishwasher broke a couple of weeks ago? I called a repairman last week and he said our dishwasher is a pretty cheap on and our circulation pump went and since the top and bottom racks are corroding we might as well get a whole new dishwasher. Oh yay, cuz you know, I always have a spare $500 hanging around, don't you? We were thinking of getting a small loan but my MIL said she'd get it as long as we paid her like $50-100 a month so we're going to do that. Hopefully they don't charge a ton to deliver it, install it and take our old one away.
Omg guys I have half an hour left AND an hour drive home and I am seriously ready for bed. Don't worry, I'll be safe in the car. I have an interesting audiobook in there that I am going to listen to as I commute back and forth. But still.....I hate being tired :(
