Sometimes during the week when the kids are driving me crazy or Miles won't stop crying or wanting to be held I throw them in the van and we go out to run errands. They're almost always good when we're shopping unless they are hungry or overtired so it helps a lot lol. Last week when this happened I decided to go to Walmart and use some of the $125 gift card they got for their birthday. It was fun wandering around getting whatever I wanted for them. I ended up spending it all and got 2 big boxes of diapers plus a small pack of overnight diapers for Miles, a cute outfit for each of them (a batman sleeper for Miles and a Thomas t-shirt and shorts for Cody), a diaper genie refill, baby tylenol, a few more straw kid cups for them, soothers, socks, baby lotion, shampoo and other random bits and pieces. I love gift cards lol. I still have a couple hundred dollars that was given to them as gifts that I am saving for winter stuff for them.
We went to visit Mike's mom and grandma yesterday to celebrate the boys' birthday with them. For some reason they got a ton of clothes for them even though we have a ton. They always give receipts though so I am going to keep a few really cute outfits and return the rest for a big box of wipes which I totally forgot to get with that gift card. Plus Mike's grandma got a disk or whatever that goes with some v tech game system that we don't even own so I'll take that back too. It might sound bad that I am returning a bunch of stuff but if I don't this stuff will just be sitting around collecting dust and I would much rather get something useful with the value. I did love some matching pj's that my MIL bought them though. I haven't even bought them matching pj's yet. I keep forgetting that I want to.
Anyways we ate lunch yesterday at Mike's grandmother's, opened gifts and then went to a nearby park which has a carousel and a train which Cody went on with my MIL. Then it started to pour so we got the hell out of there really quick lol.
We are going to Niagara Falls next weekend for a day or so. My MIL is going with us and we are going to Marineland and The Maid on the mist as well as to a few other fun places like The Bird Kingdom and The Rainforest Cafe. I hope Cody is old enough to enjoy The Rainforest Cafe finally. Watch one of them be afraid of it lol. I love the atmosphere there with the thunderstorms, moving animals, beautiful fish tanks and night sky with stars. We might also go to I-Hop which is one of my favorite breakfast places in the states. I have to look around online today and see if I can find a decently priced hotel for either this Friday or Saturday night. Hope it's not too late for that. I also have to decide if I want to try to get a room that my MIL can share with us or a separate room. Not sure if you're allowed 3 adults in a room. It could be a nightmare having a hotel room with the kids though since Cody still sleeps in a crib so I would probably try to share a bed with him. I don't know. ..
I go back to work tonight :( Yuck! I work 10-4. Hope I am not too exhausted. At least Mike is home tomorrow because of the holiday.
