I got my fitbit flex yesterday afternoon! It's so fun :) I started using it in the afternoon with the goal of 10,000 steps by bed time. I took the kids on a long walk to a far away park which helped a lot. Cody played in the splash pad while Miles and I sat in the shade and he devoured a ton of snacks I brought. I always make sure I have like 10 snacks plus water for all of us plus wipes, soothers, kleenex and a couple diapers. We were only out a couple hours and I managed to go through all the snacks and water. But anyway, back to the fitbit. It was definitely motivating me to get my 10,000 steps. I was at around 8,000 once the kids were in bed so I jogged around the family room a bit and walked on the spot while I was pumping Miles' morning bottle. Once I got to 10,000 it was 10:30 and time for bed lol.
I think it's cool how the fitbit tracks your sleeping pattern too. I slept from 10:48 to 7:06. In that time I was awake 2 times for a total of 9 minutes and restless 7 times for a total of 16 minutes. Those 2 times I was awake were both times I had to go pop Miles' soother back in. I bet the restless times were just when I rolled over or something. Nevertheless it is cool to know.
I don't know about you guys but sometimes I will have a random thought and then do something I haven't done in a while. Like yesterday I started thinking that it was so awesome having a swimming pool when I was growing up and I'm sad that we don't have one or know anyone with one. So I looked around and it turns out that there is a town outdoor pool only 2 minutes away from here. Wtf lol. Clearly I need to explore this town more. Apparently it has a graded entry too so if i ever wanted to bring the kids by myself i could. Yay! Mike and i are bringing the kids today and apparently it's a free Tim Hortons swim for some reason. I miss swimming so much! It won't be the same with a baby in my arms but i really want my kids to love swimming too. We are enrolling Cody in swimming in the fall. I will do it with him. I hope he loves it. I had him in swimming lessons when he was 6 months but not since because of the difficulty of having a young baby. Well Miles is old enough now that he can sit with Daddy during the lesson so it's all good. I'm still deciding when I should make the lesson. A weekend day? Tuesday nights when I am off work? Hmm I don't know.
