Caffeine and I will be doing photoshoots regularly for a while; mostly, she'l be doing the modelling and the post processing.
Post processing? Do I ever post?
Well....
I probably should.
Compare these:
Image by me, minimal (exposure and lighting) post processing by me:

Same image, processed by miku-chii as a laugh.

Totally different feel-- but the feel of the second is what I had in mind when I created the picture, with an intent to adjust shadow and light and sharpness to make it happen.
I absolutely need to learn to do all this; if nothing else, at least it'll unlock new possibilities.
I came across a good point made by Van Wong when he shot this sequence:
He didn't want to document what he saw. He wanted to create a photograph. And to that end, he studied fire and how it moved, and sought to capture that movement on film in a single frame.^
And I'm starting to try for it.
So here's an image with makeup and wig touchup by Rain:

She didn't modify the composition or the balance; she simply fixed the effects of heat and humidity on makeup and wig.
So... I did create this. I chose the frame and I chose the subject and the secondary subject and the focal length specifically to create this outcome.
And... it's good. I mean, it's not spectacular, but it's pretty solid work.
But for people to appreciate that, they need to not be distracted by errant hairs and shifted wigs.
So I'm going to have to learn to edit it the same way I edit my writing-- with an eye to bringing out what I saw in the picture in the first place.
^disclaimer: He didn't shop the flames in. He photographed them. Mostly, anyway.
