The condo where my parents are going to be living next fall is being built behind our townhouse right now. The noise is kind of annoying but the kids sleep through it no problem so it doesn't bother me too much. It's funny how much Cody loves watching the various trucks and diggers out there throughout the day. He runs to the window as soon as he wakes up and is disappointed on weekends when they don't work. And he's forever wanting me to watch too cuz he thinks it's so cool lol.
On Tuesday my parents were invited to a BBQ to meet their future neighbors when they will be living there. The BBQ was at the construction site which was kind of funny because as my parents were driving here my mom was asking me how many tables were set up for it and if there was shade from the sun. I saw them arrive and took a picture of them with my camera which has an awesome zoom so it looked like I was standing right in front of them. I showed my mom the picture later to creep her out lol. It was fun looking out now and then to see what they were all up to. They were close but not in shouting distance or anything and I couldn't see what or when they were eating. I just looked now and then because I knew they were visiting afterwards and I wanted to know when to expect them as I quickly cleaned up.
I now have 10 days before I have to go back to work. Yuck. My mom is going to stay here with us for the first few days so I can get some sleep while she watches the kids. I don't really need her to because really how will a few days really help me but I want her to come anyways so during the day once I am up we can have fun with the kids together.
We are having a combined birthday for the boys this weekend at my parents place and are leaving tomorrow when Mike gets off work. He only works half days on Fridays. So today I have to bake both their cakes and buy all the icing for them. I hope I can find a cute cake pan at the Bulk Barn to rent. The Mickey Mouse one I have could really be used for either of them.
Cody had a great birthday yesterday by the way. I gave him a cupcake with his breakfast and let him eat while watching cartoons. Then later I took him to a playcentre until the kids nap time. He loves that playcentre so much and lucky me, it was half price because it was his birthday. Then I made him his favorite dinner of blueberry pancakes and he got another cupcake for dessert. I put candles in it and sang Happy Birthday but it took him forever to figure out how to blow them out and he almost stuck his fingers in the flame several times lol. Afterwards, I gave him a present which was just 5 new books since our main gift for him was the Thomas day out. He'll get lots of gifts on Saturday and more the following weekend when we see the other side of the family. Lucky kid!
