Cody has had 5 sessions with his speech therapist so far and he probably knows about 35 words by now. When he started going a couple months ago he knew 10. So I do think it is helping even though she only practises a few words a session with him. He seems to randomly start saying words here and there in between seeing her. His speech therapist told me that maybe seeing her and practising words with her helps him realize he can say stuff and makes him try on his own more. Who knows. He recently learned his own name which is really cool. I sometimes say, "what is your name little boy?" and he bursts out with CODY! Lol. Unfortunately, he also started saying "no" all the time which is oh so fun. Everything is no and he often says it rudely, like yelling it at the grocery store. Fun times. But then on the upside again he started saying "thank you" which is really cute. Other recent words include two, cheese and cookie. Mike's work plan only covers 6 speech therapy sessions so after the next one each session will be full price which is $65 for a half hour session. My parents said they have no problems paying but I feel weird about asking. I will but it makes me feel broke to ask :(
