What a week! in All kinds of nonsense spewing forth

Two new kids started at the daycare center on Monday, one is three, the other is four. Mom neglected to tell us that they are both autistic, pretty severely autistic.

It was quite a tough week. The older one headbutts, the younger one is a biter.....I have the bite marks up and down my arms to prove it.

Now, I can understand why she didn't tell us, she had been to four other daycare centers that refused to accept the kids, but, it left us in a very difficult position.

She was extremely defensive when she came to pick them up on Monday, actually, very angry.

She stated that she had told my director that the boys were hard to handle. She never mentioned the word autistic....I expressed my concern for them and especially for the other children. She then told me that I couldn't make them leave because of the Americans with disabilities act.

I ended up calling in extra teachers for the classrooms that they were in so they could be taken care of appropriately. So, my payroll will be sky high!

Neither of the boys are potty trained, neither of them are verbal. All they do is scream and they are very destructive and aggressive.

I called our DCFS licensing rep to get her take on it....she is on vacation until Tuesday.

Therefore, it was a really, really hard week. I was so happy to see Friday come so that we would all be granted a reprieve from the insanity for two days.
