I turned down an interview at volunteer school today, the business manager sounded really disappointed, but I think I did the right thing. It wouldn't be fair to mess the first school around. And I really enjoyed the day I spent there.

Today is not such an enjoyable one. I ache. I ache in every part of me! I think I'm ovulating but I haven't felt ovulation in months! My ovaries feel as though they're cramping, my leg muscles ache in an all encompassing way, my back does too, and even my fingers ache.

Don't even mention my head!

It could also be from tiredness. [Insert spooky voice]Let me take you back to a time before... a time when all was dark.

At least, it was dark at night.

Then came the 'programmes'.

You may or may not know about Talaia's night terrors. When she was younger they were nightly, and she still goes through periods of regular screaming with her eyes wide open while still asleep. But last summer she said that she sees programmes. They have theme tunes and adverts but they're scary programmes, and she only sees them in the dark. I think that, as she's got older, she had started to remember the terrors (which I've read is normal) and she asked to sleep with get light on. This was last summer, and she still does.

Off course Lila jumped on the old light-on bandwagon too except that her light has stopped working so for a couple of weeks we've had the landing light on. But we have little windows above our bedroom doors and my sleep has been well and truly disturbed by the light.

So it could be exhaustion that has left me feeling this way.

Today I put a lamp in her room and the landing light is off.

Tonight's gonna be a good night, tonight's gonna be a good good night!

I have a meeting at new school tomorrow, lots of form signing needs to occur apparently.

And my eyes are closing.

When M gets home around 5am or so, I find it so hard to fall back asleep with the sun already up and beaming in our window (through our curtains). A few weeks ago I tried wearing one of those masks you wear over your eyes on the airplane? Ours is soft and silky... but WOW, complete darkness and what a difference! I've also worn earplugs a couple times, and boy do I sleep well with earplugs AND the mask. (I'm such a light sleeper). But I don't like to wear the earplugs... not being able to hear anything is kind of freaky. Anyway, I hope you are getting your rest now!
