So my difficult child is still not nursing. Wtf eh? It's been 8 days now. He screams when I even take my boob out to attempt to feed him which is not really the reaction you want from anyone when you pull your boob out lol. So whatever. I've been pumping 4 times a day and giving him about 16-18oz a day plus a few ounces of water and whole milk. That's a decent amount for his age. I'm just glad that I'm able to pump that much after not pumping regularly since he was 3 months old. Some people told me they're jealous I can pump that much. One lady I know tries to pump regularly and can only get about 4oz a day. I'm glad these big, annoying boobs of mine that I've not been a fan of since they showed up when I was 14 are good for something at least ;) I am probably going to pump until he is one at least. Maybe longer. It's hard because he won't nurse but he doesn't like whole milk near as much as he loves my milk. And I can't make a stash for him to drink because even if I pump more than 4 times a day I still can only get the same amount of milk so I don't know what to do. Mothers who nurse what would you do?
So apparently I scare my child because not only is he not nursing because I scared him when his tooth sunk into me but I got water in his eyes the last time I bathed him and so this week as soon as I turned the bath water on he started shrieking. He hates the bath now apparently. Sensitive child much? I ended up taking him in the shower and quickly and gently washing him in a one minute shower because at least this way he didn't scream and I could hold him tight. He was shaking though the poor bum. I hope he gets over this fear quickly. Both boys used to have so much fun splashing in the bath together :(
Anyways, omg I am back to work in a month today! At which point I will become a zombie mama. I know I will have to have the kids watched a little bit or in daycare or something but I just feel so uneasy about not being the one to watch them all the time. They are both not going to transition easily. They're like little clingons. Yesterday I was going to the toilet and Miles was crawling up my leg and Cody was standing two inches in front of me eating cotton candy. This is what it's like when you have kids lol.
I took the kids to our towns celebration of Canada day on Tuesday. I had no idea where this park was so I drove to the area and saw all these people parking their cars and wearing canada shirts so I parked too and discovered they were all parking to go sit and watch the parade. I had no interest in the parade so I started walking thinking I'd be at the park in 5 minutes. 10 minutes later I ask someone where the park is and they said a 10 minute walk away. So yeah, I parked a 20 minute walk from the park. How dumb am I? Lol. And the worse part was that I had decided to bring the single stroller so Cody was beet red by the time we got to the park because he's not used to walking that much. The poor kid kept saying "wawa!" Lol. He was super thirsty. We wandered around, I let Cody play a game so he could win a small prize, we had some snacks and Cody threw about 10 tantrums because he missed his nap and was hot. That was fun. I especially love it how much people stare when your child is throwing a tantrum lol. I am used to tantrums by now though and just let him do his thing. Later he was happier and dancing like a crazy kid to the live band which cracked a lot of people up. He has some wicked dance moves haha. He kept getting sad when a song ended cuz he loves music. At this point Miles was so tired he was in the shade of the stroller close to passing out. It was nice to get out and explore, people watch, etc. Cody loved this football game that was there. You basically throw a kid size football into a hole up high over and over. He threw a fit every time I told him it was time to go do something else even after I let him do that for 20 minutes. Overall he's a pretty good kid though. He just has bad moments like most of us.
Today we are spending the day at Canada's Wonderland (theme park). My parents are going too so they can see us and go on some kiddie rides with Cody. I hope Miles is as good as last time we went. I called the park and found out I'm allowed to bring in food for him thank goodness because all they have is junk food there. And I had to pump milk for him to drink while we're there. I even brought my pump in case I get too full and start to leak on my shirt. Fun stuff. Anyways we are almost there. I'm excited!! Mike and I are roller coaster freaks and we will get to go on some while my parents watch the kids. And hopefully we are going to go to the water park this time too. Yay!
