I feel like I finally am in Christmas mode, of course a week out from the holiday! I feel like I am not even close to being ready. Thankfully I do my shopping year round, gift wise. We do not go crazy with gifts, my husbands family does so the kids do get toys that most of them will end up playing with once then abandon. However before you call me scrooge they do get plenty from us. We usually do one or two big family gifts, last year was a brand new indoor play set, and some new musical instruments for our music room. Then each kid, gets a want, a need, a book and a blessing. A blessing is something they are giving to someone else, in years past some of the kids have made baked goods for our police officers or fire fighters, one year my eldest bought two dozen donuts to the nurses at our local hospitals er. Its a way for them to show the true meaning of Christmas. All the kids minus the youngest two have had their blessings in mind since this summer.:)
I usually have them write their lists for the next year at the beginning of the year so that I can be on the lookout for good deals throughout the year. We have plenty of spots in this big old farmhouse to hide presents so no one has been spoiled yet.
Well I am going to finish this coffee and then go log into work, after mom gets started at work we will start homeschool shortly after. My oldest son gets in this afternoon, I cannot wait to see him. He has been overseas the last year so my mama heart is aching to hug my boy!
