Do you know te story behind this special day that lasts for a week?

This is the story…

https://www.history.com/topics/holidays/hanukkah#:~:text=The%20Hanukkah%20’Miracle’,-According%20to%20the&text=Even%20though%20there%20was%20only,a%20yearly%20eight%2Dday%20festival.

This is one of my favorite holidays because it’s never the same day and the earliest it has ever been is November and the latest is Christmas day which is always cool. And the children get 8 days of presents which is always a nice thing to have…a new something everyday. I always got the one big thing I asked for and little things after that and by the end I had some new toys to play with till I got bored of them. But then I guess it’s the same for the children at Christmas…they get new toys and then they get bored with them.
And the only thing I do for hanakka is light the candles because it reminds me of waht others had to go through to have enough light and I know I am very lucky for the most part.

Onto something else…

I think the thermastat program is on the fritz again because the temapture last night as far as I can tell was at 67 so I know to keep my mouth shut and not say anything to the landlady when she comes back from her trip. She is such an idiot because it snowed yesterday and the major highways are just a mess and cars are getting stuck and crashing into each other.
I heard the coquihalla highway is closed because of the snow in both directions so going any where… these are the places you can not get to or leave…

What towns are on the Coquihalla Highway?
Hope. Nestled in deep wilderness at the base of the Cascade Mountains, the pretty little town of Hope sits on a wide sweeping curve of the mighty Fraser River, guarding the entrance to the Fraser River Canyon. …
Merritt. …
Logan Lake. …
Kamloops.

The last time it snowed it took hubby almost three hours to get home because the buses were not moving very fast or at all. And the sky train had snow and ice issues so they were delayed. I am not sure what it will be like tomorrow when hubby goes to work but he may also stay home and call in sick.

Today all I can see me doing is shovelling the sidewalk and part of the drive way and then putting salt down and then I will be comming in and having a very hot shower.
And the rest of the day I will be doing my usual basic domestic stuff. And then making dinner which won’t be much.
And dinner I am thinking will be some sort of left overs because hubby and I went through the big freezer and saw lots of left overs so they can start to go and get eaten.
And sometime soon hubby and I need to get some more meat and chicken and stuff because all we have is Turkey drum sticks chicken drum sticks and a small amount of ground beef and pork and boxed fish so there isn’t much but it will do for a bit.

Onto something else…

Well, I really don’t have much else to say so I will stop here…
Do have a great day…
Be Kind, Be Calm, Be safe and Behave.

you all are getting lots of snow this year! I keep my thermostat at 65 when we sleep but it adjusts itself to warm up to 69 at 6am

Jodie theKat ⋅ December 19, 2022

She had it a 69 and it was perfect but then she told me there was some issue and it got fixed and when I told her I had the best sleep all she said was it's going back down to 63 and that is when I wanted to throw her off the roof or throw sharp object at her and her dog.
Question? Do you have a program for your furnace?
And she also told me she got a nose bleed because the tempature was too high for her...I just laughed to myself....Because I don't care if she bleeds to death.

theKat Jodie ⋅ December 19, 2022

she could get nose bleed from dry air but not the few degrees warmer lol yes, we have 2 nest thermostats and I keep it cool upstairs until we are ready for bed and the cool on main floor

Jodie theKat ⋅ December 19, 2022

well with this new tghemometer I have the air is anywhere from 24RH to 30RH so I am not sure that is something that would create a nose bleed. But I have never heard of a dry air nise bleed.

theKat Jodie ⋅ December 19, 2022

many have to run humidifier to keep the air from being so dry.
so you got your own thermostat now?

Jodie theKat ⋅ December 19, 2022

I got this one and I really like it...
