When you're old like me (lol) and a mom you get excited about weird things. Like this morning I am excited to go to a Sobey's nearby that is closing because everything in the store is 50% off. Since Friday is my regular every other week grocery shopping day, even if I can find some things for 50% off that would save us some money. Diapers would be a bonus for sure but we'll see how much stuff the store still has left. Speaking of money and groceries, omg my kids eat a crazy ton of food these days! We are running low on food right now and I want to try to make it to Friday without buying anything (besides at this sale) so I'm going to have to dig into the cupboards and get creative. They go through so much fruit, yogurt and 10 different kinds of snacks it's incredible. Miles is actually eating more than Cody these days because you put anything on his high chair tray and he just devours it and wants more lol. Oh and it's extra fun when he gets food in his hair, especially since he HATES having his hair washed sigh Hates as in screams the most awful scream you have ever heard in your life while you're washing his hair. Cody cried when I tried to wash Miles' hair yesterday because it was such a brutally shrill scream :(

So anyways, African Lion Safari on Sunday was mostly fun. When we got there we did the drive around where you drive around the place looking out your window close up at all the animals. I had Cody on my lap and he was enjoying pointing at all the animals and looking at them. Until an ostrich came too close to the window and he started screaming at the top of his lungs and kicking his feet while sitting on my lap. Omg lol. Apparently he doesn't like ostriches and thought it was going to get us or something? Who knows! We were hoping to have a monkey sit on the mirrors on the side of our van but no such luck. We still got to see them pretty well though :)

Once we got out of the car and went into the park we had lunch and then took Cody on this little train that goes around a small area looking at a few animals. He absolutely LOVES trains so he enjoyed that for sure. We walked around looking at more animals for a while in the blazing heat (ugh the sun was brutal that day) and then took Cody to this giant splash pad they had with like 6 different areas. Miles is still super clingy to me and will not let me leave him AT ALL so I stayed with the stroller in the shade while Mike, his mom and Cody went to enjoy the water. I had to go pee before they left us and Miles' screams echoed nicely through the bathroom at the horror he had to endure from being left with his Grandma for 60 seconds. My god this child is ridiculous. People looked at us like we were trying to hurt him or something. So anyways, I had my nursing cover with me so I decided to try and nurse Miles in the shade since he hadn't nursed in about 5 hours or so. Yeah, no. He whipped the cover off his head and SCREAMED. I tried again in the bathroom later and he still refused to nurse. Weird kid. Normally after that long he'd be dying for some milk. Cody enjoyed the splash pad to an extent. He hates getting water on his face/head so he played mostly along the outskirts, watching other kids roll around in the water and get soaked. I was a bit sad that he was so hesitant because he didn't look like he was having as much fun as the other kids even though he told me that he had fun.

I stuffed Miles with snacks and food I had brought while they played in the water to keep him busy and to stop him from trying to eat dirt while we sat waiting for them lol. I also taught him how to drink from a straw because I wanted him to get SOME water/juice into him since it was such a hot day and he was refusing to nurse. He did actually learn but for some reason now he can't do it anymore. After they finished in the water there was only time to get an ice cream and go to the elephant show before the place closed. Miles was also refusing to nap all day and by this time he was getting pretty cranky and didn't want to be in the stroller but also was trying to squirm out of my grasp so I walked around with him while the other 3 enjoyed the show. That was fine with me though as there was no place to escape the beating sun during the show and I could barely stand it. When we left we only had a 15 minute drive home but the kids were so wiped out they fell asleep before we'd left the parking lot lol. So not too bad of a day. I always like getting out and doing something rather than being stuck in the house. And we all split the cost so it wasn't too bad. My MIL paid for us to get in plus for a snack, I paid for gas for the car and Mike paid for our lunch.
