Too many cough drops in (W)hole

So, Milo thinks he's helping me (I have strep and pharyngitis/laryngitis? my discharge papers list all three...) by shoving every single cough drop in the bag into my mouth at once. TOO MENTHOLATED MILO! STOP! lol

Anywho. My Melissa is in Vermont, surely loving her vacation to the cabin. I miss her madly. She and I talk most evenings, and without her, I feel like I really have no one to talk to. I tell her everything. She will listen to anything. She lets me rant when I'm mad, lets me tell her ridiculous stories, listens to me whine and complain when I'm sick or sad, offers encouragement and advice when I need it, and it just all around always there for me.

Heather is busy with her new found freedom and her new house and her new (okay, over a year long) relationship and she's so so happy with all of it and it's so fulfilling and new to her, I don't wanna rain on her parade with my drama too much, although she does allow me to vent periodically when we have dinner dates and such. We used to try to do dinner once a week, but now that she's moved out of her parents house and into her own place, she's been forgetting a lot. She has always been fond of staying in and laying low, so now that she's got her own space and her boyfriend and her puppies and she is loving her life to DEATH, she doesn't want to avoid going home and really relishes that time in the evening to settle in at home and cook dinner and hang with Don and the pups and so on.

I am truly, genuinely, overwhelmingly happy for her! But it DOES cut in on my Ashie/Heather-Time ;) Which makes my Melissa time even more important to me. So it sucks even more when she's out of town. :( Hopefully she'll only be gone two weeks this time! Last time it was supposed to be 2 weeks and turned into 5 or 6. UGH! It was horrible! (..for me.. haha)

In other news- My application for my teaching certificate was received this morning! I tracked the package :) EEE!!! Can't wait to get that in the mail. I hope there's no trouble with the application. I'm dying to receive my BAE degree from UAF, too! WHERE THE HECK IS THAT?! lol.. it's supposed to be about 6 weeks from graduation, which was on Mother's Day.. so any day now. Or maybe it was 6-8 weeks from the posting of the degrees in their system? That wasn't long after graduation, though, so it should be SOON! I can't wait to get it. And FRAME IT. lol.

No calls for any teaching position interviews yet, but I don't think they've started the calls and narrowed down the applications to the interviewees just yet. I spoke with another intern the other day who said that she thought we were supposed to write a personalized letter of introduction to each school we applied with, and that was not what I had understood from the directions on the webpage, so hopefully it doesn't hinder my application in any way. I attached all of my required documents, but my intro letter was just a generalized 2-page personal introduction to me and my philosophy of education, and I attached the same letter to all 8 applications.

I REALLY feel like I could ace an interview if I just GOT ONE! fingers crossed Thanks to everyone who is hoping/praying/crossing their fingers for me :)

SO! My heels have started cracking, anyone know a good remedy for that? I've been putting Bag Balm on them, but it doesn't seem to be helping :(

I need to find my taxes from February so I can go re-apply for the nominal fee at the sliding scale clinic... I had to go to the ER yesterday morning for my tonsils, and the Dr suggested having them removed right away. He said that if he was a surgeon he would have chopped 'em out right then. He gave me prednisone and penicillin. Feels a LOT better already, but I'm going to take all the meds anyways. I probably won't take the predinose for the whole ten days, but maybe the rest of this week.

It's raining. It's been raining an awful lot. I don't really mind, because our house gets seriously over heated. It's 10 degrees warmer inside right now than it is outside.

Milo's adderall is... ehh.. going.. well? I guess? It definitely makes a huge difference in his hyperactivity, but his moods are fairly erratic and he is still pretty mean and can't control certain urges... he constantly grabs/holds/plays with his boy parts, he bites his nails, he hits and throws things, and he gets extremely frustrated very easily. I am seeing a lot more of the loss of appetite with this medication than I have with others we've tried, but he is still sleeping well. He has a check back on Monday with the Nurse Practioner from the practice he is being seen through at TVC.. So I guess we'll see what she says.
