The great hawk circles the earth

as black birds bite at

his tail feathers.

The frogs growl at

the straberry moon

And everyone knows its special

Im naked behind the house at 11:47 pm

Breathing steam and spitting fire

remembering how i used to fight

with the night just for a laugh.

Now im not laughing

My hands smell like gasoline

and I cant help but wonder how

Many more years do you want?

how many more days?

My blood is soiled and dark

ashes sit on my brian.

things are made from something

and brought to nothing.

the ambers glow and the smoke falls

to the sky.

I understand the fall of cities,

The fall of nations

a small plane

passes over head

I look upward as though

it means something.

Its true the sky has rotted.

It wont be long for

Any of us.
