Picking up... in Random Thoughts

Well, I survived the 4-Jul. Thank god for my Bose QC35 headphones. Which I need new ear pads for. I forgot how long ago I bought those, but I remember them being expensive, but they are totally worth it. They protect my hearing at work, and protect my sanity of firework-laden holidays. I just paired them to the computer for the TV, and drowned out everything else. The 3 day weekend was nice, I will say that.
Ran ahead of schedule today, and ended up coming home at 4pm and started mowing the yard. C is home on leave for a couple of weeks, so he jumped the fence and took care of the trimming and edging, and also helped me get the dog kennel ripped out, as the grass had basically grown it into the ground, since I haven’t been bothered to get in the with the string trimmer to cut the grass since the dog died. In the process, I found her two favorite big sticks that she used to drag around and chew on, as well as two of her tennis balls, and the chew bone she kept looking for or a few months before she passed. I don’t have the heart to get rid of them. I told C the old dog kennel taught me something - next time, I need to build one with a gate that I can get the lawn mower into. But I’m not getting another dog until I get back to Texas. But, that’s another story, at the moment.
Well, the dry season has started. Canada is on fire. Considering we that week of 90F - 105F, and it hasn’t rained since, I think we’re gonna have a bad summer. Canada was set on fire by lightning, but the idiots around here will manage to set Washington on fire. Speaking of, a few dimwits decided to light off a few things in the field behind me, and set it on fire, and C went running out with a garden hose and put it out, before the fire department got there. I actually found out about Canada’s wildfires from a TLDR video. Since, that’s the only news I can watch.
I can’t watch or listen to news any more. I don’t watch any other news channels on Youtube, I don’t have TV service at home - and no, I don’t have an antenna either - and I’ve stopped listening to news radio while I’m driving around for work. It either puts me on edge, or pisses me off. Pisses me off as in I start yelling at the radio. It’s out of frustration, because it’s hard to believe some people, mainly the leadership of this state… and this country… can actually be complete imbeciles.
There’s more I want to say, but I don’t have the energy to write it.

I pretty much agree with you .
