I've got a new smart phone. In fact it's smarted than me. I haven't learnt how to fly it yet. It's an HTC One mini 2. I wanted an HTC One M8, but that would have meant re re-mortgaging the house. I will be fiddling with it until it becomes my friend.
I was also supposed to be getting my new bicycle this week as well, but due to the astonishing lack of managerial skills in the HR department at my company, the cycle to work scheme vouchers have not been released yet. The degree of inflexibility, incompetence, and general lack of awareness within the HR department is in fact so staggering, I am amazed that they actually manage to dress themselves in the morning. If they were any slower they would need watering!
I actually ordered my bike on 1st May, and 5 weeks later they are telling me that it will take another 2 weeks to process the invoice. That would take us up to 7 weeks in total, and I wouldn't be able to use it for the Naked Bike Ride, on 14th. I have begged them to speed things up because I have an "important event" that I need the new bike for. But alas, it falls upon deaf ears. My last chance is to see if I can cut a deal with the bike shop tonight and take it before I get the vouchers. If that fails I'm just going to give up and just buy the bloody thing myself. It just isn't worth the constant battle for the sake of a £60 saving.
I don't understand why people insist on making things so complicated. I'm really grumpy today. These things get up my nose.
