Friday 05/13/22 in Lady Loves the Ocean

Good Morning. Happy Friday the 13th.

I know it has been over a week since I was here. I have just been busy dealing with life and all that comes with it.

It is a beautiful morning here. The temp is 76. With a light breeze. It is so nice. I sat outside with my first cup of coffee and read for a while. I came in for my second cup of coffee and decided to check the computer and post here.

This week Summer hit. For the last few days, it has been in the 90s with high humidity. I had to break down and turn on the ac on Tuesday. Today we are supposed to have a bit of a break. And we have a chance of rain later today. Tomorrow and Sunday temps are supposed to be in the high 70s. It should feel good.

My son and daughter-in-law and granddaughter came by for Mother’s Day. There were here several hours on Sunday. They brought me a hibiscus tree for mom’s day. It is beautiful. It has bloomed several times. It is currently out on my deck. I hope I can keep it alive. The heat the last few days has wilted it a bit. I need to repot it. We had a great time. Only 15 weeks until baby boy is born. The time is going by fast. I am sure Mama doesn’t feel that way. Quinn said mommy and daddy got a crib for baby brother. She was disappointed it is not in her room. She enjoyed playing with Mira my cat.

I picked up my new glasses at Walmart yesterday. What a difference it makes when you can see. I ended up getting two pairs. One at Walmart and one at my Eye dr. The ones at the eye dr. haven’t come in yet. I had to get progressive lenses. So they were not cheap. I got the cheapest frames I could. Both pairs are a little funky-looking. One is black and white the other baby blue. I will take a picture after the other pair arrives. I hope I like them as much as I like these.

Once again I have so many books checked out from the library I had to turn off my reserve list. Currently, I have 12 checked out. I read a lot yesterday afternoon. Finished one I can return today. I am going to wait until Monday at least before I turn the reserve list back on. Hopefully, I can read a lot this weekend. I finished “The Book of Cold Cases” by Simone St. James. It was much the same as her other books. It deals with Ghosts. It was kind of hard to get into at first. And I almost didn’t finish it but it stirred enough curiosity in me to finish it. I am not reading “Fear Thy Neighbor” by Fern Michaels. It is a short book of 226 pages. So that should only take a day or two. Last Friday I went to the Library book sale in the town 20 miles from me. It was a free-will donation. So I ended up getting a box of books (15) for $5. That was a great score. I don’t think there are any more book sales around me now until late summer or early fall.

I think I have covered everything that has happened in the last week. My neighbor just called and he needs a ride to the car dealership to pick up a new battery for his truck. So I am going to do that now. And pick up a drink from the new health food store that just opened in town.
