If I could be immortal
I’d walk the earth for years
Indulging in it’s pleasures
That I’ll see, smell, taste, or hear
But I am not immortal
Over all mortality reigns
And all of us would be lucky
If we just saw one more day
And to all those fleeting beauties
Of friends and family and love
And the promise they gave of eternity
In their great heaven above
So would I be immortal
If I ever could choose
There’s a future I could live to see
But also much I’d loose
I don’t think I’d be immortal
Cause there are friends I’d miss when away
So I think I’ll count myself lucky
If I just see one more day
