I’ve had a Carly Simon kind of morning. You know the song “You’re so vain” right? Earlier I dropped a full roll of plotter paper (30”x500’....I was trying to load the plotter but the tube was bent on the roll) on my left big toe. I knew I did it, but it didn’t hurt or anything. 5 minutes later I’m back at my desk and feel something wet under my foot on my shoe (flip flop) I look down and it looks like someone has tried to cut my dang toe off and blood is everywhere. It is pooling on the side next to my toenail. T came to see what was wrong so I stuck my foot out from under my desk to show her. And then without hesitation, the first thing I said was “I’m going to be pissed if I lose my toenail!”....and thats where Carly Simon came in singing 😊
On a side note, I handle all WorkComp as part of my job....as I’m walking down the hall to the bathroom I yell out to my boss that I’m going to file a claim (meaning WC). Having not seen my foot yet, he replys “a sexual harassment claim?”....that right there says more about our office climate than anything, because we tend to be a little inappropriate at times, haha.
