Good Morning Sunday!!
I woke up around 5:30 a.m. I tried to fall back to sleep but couldn’t do it. So I crawled out of bed around 6 a.m. Made my first cup of coffee and started watching the local news. It seems there was some severe weather about 100 miles from here. Tornadoes touched down in a few spots. Killing several. It’s devastating. We were lucky we only had some strong bouts of wind and rain that only lasted a few minutes. This morning when I woke up the wind was really strong but I think it has let up some. It is currently 30 degrees. With a high expected to be around 40 for the day. This up and down with temps is bound to cause disruptions like last night. It is just crazy.
I am not sure what my plans are for the day. I want to get my walking time in of course. I plan to read a bit. I should do some meal prep. Or at the very least clean out the fridge and see what I have as far as options for the week. I need to do laundry. Or I could just be lazy and not do anything. No, I don’t think that is an option. I will do some things. Maybe not all of them.
I didn’t start watching “Pieces of me” on Netflix last night. I was tuned into the weather for quite some time. And then I decided to go into bed and read. I turned on an old tv show for background noise. And in case I fell asleep. I don’t like starting something new and falling asleep and missing things and not knowing where to go back to. So I turned on the old tv show “Revenge”. When that was first airing it was one of my favorite tv shows. I never missed an episode. I was so sad when it ended. I think I got two episodes in and fell asleep. I will probably go back to it tonight when it’s close to bedtime. I have several tv shows I turn on to fall asleep to. Old episodes of “Bluebloods”, “Chicago Fire”, “NCIS New Orleans”. I pull those up on my regular antenna I have hooked up to my Roku tv. I am a terrible tv junkie. But I am retired. And it’s cheap entertainment.
I woke up to several text messages from my brother in Arizona. He saw the news about the weather online and was concerned. He also has a house up in northern Iowa. So he keeps up on the news there and the weather. I am sure he will be calling later once he gets up and around. He is doing pretty good after his back surgery. He never did take much of the pain medication he was given. At his last dr. appointment the dr. seemed very pleased with his recovery. He does stretching and walking several times a day. He will start PT in a few weeks. I am very proud of him for making the decision to not take the pain meds because of his past. He is so strong.
I have decided I am going to try to find a Work at home job I can do part-time. I am not sure how successful I will be in my search. But I am going to concentrate on looking really hard. I want something to do and I want to be able to make some extra money. My last job was in customer service for a Company that processed short-term disability claims and insurance claims for Walmart. I did that for 5 years. Prior to that, I worked for a very large computer company that processed education testing materials for schools all over the US. I did so many different things for that company. I worked for the company for 20 years. I took a severance package from them when they decided to combine my department and relocate it 35 miles away. I loved that job. I have regrets at times that I didn’t just make the move. But my boss at the time took a package and so did many of my co-workers. So I think I have the decent experience to try to find a work-at-home job. The last job I worked my last 3 years at home. I joined a few groups for WAH jobs. Hopefully, I will find something I can do.
I think I have run out of things to say. I am going to shower and get some things done around here. And then go out for a walk later. It will be a good day.
Later,
Sheri
