Okay, a little background first:
I am a paralegal. My ex-husband is an attorney. We began a law practice together. I did the legal assisting, office managing, bookkeeping and all that good stuff when we were together.
After getting divorced, I was able to be a stay at home mother. It was both good and bad, but then the kids were all grown up.
The ex called me a few years back stating that his practice was in shambles and begged for my help .... I went to his office as a paralegal ONLY. I did that for a few years. In November 2013, I got annoyed with the whole office and quit. Then in February 2014, he called and begged me to help him with his financial stuff because his bookkeeper had quit and everything was a mess.
And, yeah, well, I went back ... got a significant raise and all that but still it's a difficult task. He has a staff of dumb asses, and his wife is in the middle of things causing turmoil (more on that later).
Anyway, for the past several weeks, I've been working from home ... bookkeeping and tax stuff mostly, and well, his incompetent secretary of 14 years, called me about filing some things with the court. She was completely lost ... there was no reason for her not to know how to do these things. I explained to her step by step what to do and what previous case had all the forms and information. It ended up taking her all day to do what I could do in half an hour. And, by the end of the day, it still wasn't done. Then she whined that she's not a paralegal and nobody would help her. Stupid pot head!
