It’s early. I was up at 5 a.m. I have updated all of my Facebook groups. Eaten my oatmeal and banana. Drinking my coffee and now updating here.
It is cold this morning. The temp is currently 5 degrees. We got flurries overnight. It didn’t amount to anything. Just enough to dust the ground and my windshield. The sun is trying to shine. The high today is supposed to reach 16 degrees. I don’t think I will be going out today. I don’t need to. So I will do the necessary things around the house and then read and watch tv.
I am getting into the current book I am reading. “Cul-de-sac” by Joy Fielding. I hope to finish today or tomorrow. I have plenty more from the library I need to read this month. I turned off my holds for a while. I was getting notifications of books waiting daily. I need to catch up. The books I currently have checked out are all books I want to read and they are not all renewable. So I have to stay on track.
I might start the new “Jack Reacher” series today. It is on Amazon Prime. I also want to watch the new season of “Steel Magnolias” on Netflix. I never have a shortage of things to watch. I have a Firestick, and my bedroom tv is a Roku tv so I have a lot of options. Some of the tv shows I watch on a regular basis will be coming back next week. I am excited about that. I am a retired old lady that enjoys her tv.
I got approved for another year of EBT. But when the emergency allotment ends March 1st for our state I will only get $20 a month. Isn’t that crazy. I am going from $250 to $20 a month. I am on a fixed income. I only get social security. My rent and utilities take up most of my check. My utilities like everyone else’s went up this month. I am on the budget billing where I pay the same price each month. To cover any overage I may have. It was raised $30. My rent was just raised by $25. The price of gas went from $3.17 to $3.29 that was last week. It could be more now. When is this going to end? I don’t know how families are doing it. The elderly are really having a tough time. I am 63 I don’t like to think of myself as elderly but I guess I am. We got a raise in our SS. But everything was raised as well. Beyond what we received for a raise.I am not currently having to pay for insurance. But I will in another year. It scares me. A lot of seniors have $150 taken out of their checks for insurance before they ever get it. I better stop complaining I know it could be a lot worse than it is for me. I am truly grateful. But I am scared for the future.
I am still talking to Jessie. We have not gone out yet. I am going to say yes after Valentine’s Day. Get past that. I have never been a fan of Valentine’s day even when I was in a relationship. He is a really nice guy. We have talked a lot in person and through text. I am not sure why he bothers with me. He has been asking me out for a few years. I hope I don’t disappoint him. If nothing else we are friends. I will never join a dating site again. I haven’t done that for over 10 years. That used to be a big bunch of crap. There are more married men on those sites than single me. Married men lying. You can’t trust those sites. It is very rare for people to meet and have meaningful relationships. We will see how it goes with Jessie.
Time to get off here and be productive for a bit. It’s going to be an awesome Saturday.

That's a huge cut in your benefits. I would also wait until after VD to go out with someone. Smart move!
