Monday 01/24/22 in Lady Loves the Ocean

Good Morning Monday. The start of a new week. I was up at my usual time around 6 a.m. I watched our local news, made my oatmeal and banana, took my meds, read for a bit. Then watched Good Morning America. Showered. And here I am. I am reading a book I want to finish today. So I will do that when I finish this entry. I have a youtube channel playing in the background. I watch a lot of things on Youtube.

It is cloudy right now and 25 degrees right now. The temp. will be going down around noon. We got another dusting of snow overnight. I am glad we didn’t get more. We will remain cold here in Iowa for the next two days. So I will probably be staying in. I have plenty of housework to do. I have books to read. I won’t go for walks when it is in the single digits. 

I want to thank you to those that left notes of prayers for my brother David. Who will be having major back surgery to fuse his spine. That will be happening on Thursday as far as I know. 02/27/02. He lives in Arizona. I really wish I could be there with him. He does not have any support there other than his wife. She is Filipino and does not drive. And we are unsure if she will be able to go in and be with him before or after surgery. And they live around 75 miles from the hospital. So I do have a lot of concerns.  I will update here as I get more information. 

I just watered all of my plants. For some reason when I water my plants the cat follows me around and then after I am done she checks them all out. A few she would love to chomp on but she gets scolded for it. I only have plants that at cat safe. I have 12. Most are plants I have had for a while. So they are not small. I love plants. When I first got Mira my cat she wanted to play in the pots. I put aluminum foil around them and she stopped. Now she just wants to chomp on the leaves.

Mira is a Bengal cat and she has crazy things she does. She is very nocturnal. So she loves to run around the house at night and pounce on the bed a lot. She loves water. She sits in between the two curtains when I take a shower. Once in a while, she will jump in. She carries certain toys around her mouth a lot. She loves balls and anything that has a crinkle sound.  She is a climber. She has a cat tree but it’s not tall enough. I placed it on a bookshelf but it still isn’t good enough. She is a rescue from the animal shelter. I almost didn’t get her because of her breed. I am glad I did. She is a cuddler but on her own terms. She loves to sit in my chair with me. She does not purr a lot unless she is really relaxed. She loves to be held like a baby and have her belly rubbed. She will throw herself down in front of you and lie on her back to get a belly rub. She really does bring me a lot of joy. 

I am going to stop here and get this posted here and on Prosebox. On to a productive Monday.
