Despite my plans... I keep making plans. Wouldn't it be cool to just read a book and not think about what you'll read after that one and after that and so on and so on until eternity. Because I had this idea that after I finish reading A Scanner Darkly and start and finish The Double I should give another go to the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy books. The first one was funny but I think the lack of a plot was what set me off. I don't know, maybe.

Speaking of the subject books I definitely like my slower reading pace than what I tried before. I think I appreciate more the writing.

Also the title of the book was finally explained, or at least allusions made to the explanation.

What I have discovered about my writing attempts is that I enjoy world building more than actual story crafting. Yesterday began a project. 6000 words in its mostly explanations about customs and the social order. We'll see how this goes. Perhaps I should finally start listening to my own advice and stop trying to be good and just write.

Beyond that the last few days the heat has been infernal. I hate summers.
