Just got a new laptop yesterday. I love how fast and snappy it is. Everything opens up so fast and I am even looking forward to playing a couple of games, even though I am not much of a gamer. Coupled with a foldable desk with a powerful computer on my bed in the midst of this horrible winter, a guy like me could ask for nothing more, but sadly, that very sense of emptiness is still there.
The door is locked. The curtains are drawn to avoid outsiders peeking into my small world. I really don’t like it, to have my privacy ravaged by some random person out of nowhere. In the center of an urban city, I feel as aloof and isolated as an island in the middle of an ocean. I wouldn’t mind it of course, if I didn’t feel this perennial lack, this desire for something abstract which I have always felt, as I do now, which the outside world seems to provide, but that has never been the case.
