My trip to DC last weekend caused me to rethink my preconceived notions of AMTRAC. It was enjoyable; cost effective and convenient. The trains were on-time and clean and crowded but not overcrowded. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. It was much better than doing a 3 1/2 hour drive and paying my hotel 58.00 a day for two days to park. Saturday night the two families met for dinner in a Georgetown restaurant and as soon as we met all strangeness left. I credit that to an adorable baby on the groom's side who managed to charm everyone. Afterwards we went our respective ways and I went to bed early. Sunday morning I went down to the lobby restaurant for my FREE breakfast buffet. My oldest boy was there so I joined him. He and his wife go in late Saturday so had not made the dinner. Soon we set off for the Arena and filed in to our seats. This trip I was introduced to a smart phone app, Uber, that arranged taxi transportation for us and it certainly was better that flagging down cabs. 192 graduates filed across the stage one by one. They were presented with diploma and their cowls flipped by one of the School's Officials. Some of them had this done by a family member and my future father( Grand ) in law did this for his son as well as my Granddaughter by virtue of his being a Faculty Department Head. . Truly " there was a Doctor in the house ".

Georgetown Medical had a reception at the school and there was a lot of phone and contact swapping as more than a little sad weeping's. We went back to Gene's Family house for a ;party ( Lovely Georgetown Brownstone ) and had a catered meal. His ( Dave's, ) family is gracious, cultured and I found several of themhighly interesting. I trained back then and arrived into NJ at 10 PM. It was a great trip, a happy occasion. and one for the life's memories. I will post photos when I figure out how.

Also just to RAT myself out I went out on a Blind Date. It was not a fabulous evening but I was mentally flipping coins, heads or tails, about a second date. That was removed from my hands when thee bill came and I had to explain that I had left my wallet at home. She paid the mill, declined my offer to mail her a check when I got home, and suggested to me that I give it to her on the next date. She actually mentioned Saturday coming.
