Saturday afternoon in Day to day life from a woman that turned 60 in Oct 2014 and who lives on a farm and Retired on January 2, 2016. I plan to do more sewing, work outside in the yard and just enjoy my retirement.

I've been busy today even though there have been rain showers off and on most of the day. Got up about 6 this morning, and started laundry, got dressed and swept the kitchen and utility room. Then I decided to fix me something to eat. Warmed some biscuits up in the oven and fixed a couple of eggs and a slice of sausage. My weakness is the breakfast foods. I crave them on the weekends since I don't eat them throughout the week. After eating, I washed up the dishes and then fixed the hot mop water and began in the utility room. During this time, J appeared from his room so I took a break from mopping the kitchen until he was out. I got my sheets in the washer and folded the dry clothes from the dryer and got them put away.

During the break from mopping I decided to plant a couple of flowers that I bought yesterday. Moved the planter to a small concrete slab on the gravel in front of the porch. Planted petunias in it. Purple and red. Also dug a hole for one of the tomato plants I bought and got it in the ground between showers. The rain is sooo much better for all the plants than good old well water. Have planted a hanging pot with wave petunias. I haven't hung it yet, as I am wanting it to get some rain too before I put on the porch hanger. I'm tired already and it is just after 3. Taking a break may not have been a good idea but for whatever reason my legs are hurting today and my back too. Geeze I hate getting old.

Think I'm going to end this and get out of this chair before I lose what little motivation I have left. Feels good to have a clean kitchen and kitchen floor but still need to put some throw rugs down in the utility room. Also need to check the dryer. Can't remember if it is empty or not. Again, I HATE getting older.

Added another hummingbird feeder today too. Put one of the shorter shepherd's hook in front of the taller double shepherd's hook. Not sure the hummers have found it yet, and not sure if it will be too low for them or not. I wouldn't think so, since they sup from flowers that aren't that tall, but I'll watch and if they don't I'll have to move it.
