28.  Who is your favourite character (book/movie/etc) and why?

I’m listening to a Spotify playlist that my 10 year old niece just emailed to me. Currently playing is Woman by Little Simz; it’s okay. I shall keep updating you on the music.

Anyone who knows me knows the answer to this (even if their memory needs a prod)

All together now..? Imogen ‘Idgey’ Threadgoode. She has the luck of being both a book and a movie character (now it’s Tame Impala with Yes I’m Changing) due to being one of the main characters of one of the previous prompts: favourite book/film.

Idgey is a rebel, does her own thing and fights for the rights of everyone. She’s bolshy, selfish, caring, sad, a bee charmer, a depression era Robin Hood, frivolous and gives a good-God-damn (unlike the judge in the trial). Her reasons for being so are sad. Being gay in the 1920/30s wasn’t easy and added to this was witnessing her favourite brother being killed and being unable to do anything about it. Then watching the love of her life drive off to marry a man she didn’t want to marry and who beat her. And just as Big George looked out for her through her years as a ‘wild child’, she looked out for him when the Georgia police suspected him of murder.

(I Do This All The Time by Self Esteem).

Idgey is a heroine/hero that the world needs, sadly Whistle Stop and it’s Café are fictional and never could have existed as it seemed to be a pocket of life in which racism wasn’t as rife as other places, but it’s nice to slip into the era (all through Ninny’s rose tinted spectacles) and lose myself.

(alligators- of monsters and men).

I feel that a YouTube Channel starting Phil may be my way to fame and fortune.
