4. Describe how you faced a fear, or fears?

I have had two main fears and they fit in two parts of my life.

BC (before children) my big fear was that of arachnids. Eight legged creatures of a variety of sizes, shapes and colours. Though truth be told, it was specifically spiders. 🕷

Buuuuuttt… i did not want to pass that fear on so when they were little we spent a lot of time in the garden looking at cute mini creatures, and that included spiders. Even now T brings massive spiders to me to share the excitement! And I can cope with it, still not totally happy but I can look and enjoy the fact of the spider whereas the old me would have frozen in fear.

Then there’s the epoch HC (having children). My huge fear, when they were little, was not being able to save them. I had recurring nightmares in which they both needed to be saved but I could only save one of them and had to choose. I always woke before the choice could be made because that is a choice that could never be made. In these dreams, at least one of them was drowning. So I made sure they could swim; both my kids are good swimmers. Once they were able to swim, the dreams stopped.

Now my greatest fear is that my toenail will never be fungus free!!!!
