WHERE: in the guest bed at my dad's house. The house I grew up in, lived in from 6 months old until 19 years old. I love seeing the fun my kids have here with all the space in the garden and the house.

WEARING: I'm in bed. I don't like to be too warm when I sleep.

FITNESS UPDATE: well... I ran a mile in 8 minutes and 58 seconds last week! Yes, I'm pretty impressed too! That was the first time I've dropped below 9 minutes in many, many years. I think I'll be doing my Race For Life training session alone tomorrow, Tally is coughing for England right now! Hopefully she'll be healthy next Sunday when we're actually doing the run!

IN THE NEWS: do you know, I don't have a clue! I'm cocooned in my childhood home, I've walked through my childhood town and done a 500 piece puzzle with my eldest. I've watched a programme about the last 50 years of comedy on BBC 2. I haven't read, heard nor seen any news today.

READING: I've just finished under a silent moon and am contemplating The Girl Who Saved The King Of Sweden (or something like that). Currently, at dad's, I'm reading a short Alan Bennett story about the queen taking to reading and how it takes over her life. It's written in the lovely gentle but very poignant way that he writes. I love a sentence that he wrote about the queen; which I can't remember and the book is downstairs and I'm naked and my dad just set the alarm. Dagnabbit because it's wonderful!!

ACTIVITIES TODAY: oh, I already went through that! Feeling a little tired because Rich finished work at 5:30 last night and we were ready to pick him up with a subway salad for him to eat and were stuck in traffic around Oxford. To make up for lost time we didn't stop once on the drive and made it in four and a half hours! There was a lady behind us with a pleasant case of road rage. We were in nose to trail traffic that was stop and crawl the whole way along a section. When the car in front set off I didn't feel an urge to charge after it because I knew we would be gaining a couple of feet, maybe ten feet on a good move. If I didn't go straight away she flashed her lights, beeped her horn and made sure her large, 4x4 BMW was as close as humanely possible to the back of our car. Of course, if you know me you will know exactly what reaction I had. I slowed down of course! And I even caught her eye in the rearview mirror and smiled at her.

Seriously?! We aren't going anywhere love!

So anyway, I was pretty tired today and kept it pretty low key.

THINKING ABOUT: having to spend the day with mother in law tomorrow...

PLANNING: I have no idea. Sleep pretty soon, I reckon! Rich isn't here as he is at his mum's already so I'm going to sleep diagonally :-D
