Well, it's thrilling that spring is here but with spring comes lots of rain. So, we've only been out a couple days this week. Which sucks. Today is supposed to be nice but I have grocery shopping to do when Miles gets up from his nap and in the afternoon Cody has a doctor appointment to see if he will need tubes in his ears. Let's hope not but I will try not to freak out if he does. Mike and I had tubes put in our ears several times as children and it tends to run in the family so we will see. The reason why we are going is because he went for an audiologist to have his hearing fully tested and they saw too much fluid in his ears even though he didn't have a cold so that could mean his ears aren't draining properly, which would make him need tubes. We went twice and both times he had excess fluid. So now, today, the pediatrician will take another look.

Miles had his 9 month appointment on Wednesday and he is 18lbs 13oz and 27.5 inches. He's only in the 25th percentile for his weight which is so weird for me (to have a kid on the small side) because Cody was around that height and weight when he was 7 months lol. I'm glad though because he will fit into his clothes longer and be lighter to carry. I still have him in an infant bucket car seat actually. He hasn't reached the limits yet, although we will be switching it over soon. But anyway, he's healthy and did well at his appointment besides swatting the doctors hands away when he tried to look in his ears.

At 9 months, Miles is eating all table food and has been for a month. I just throw a ton of food on his high chair tray and he goes to town. And he's gotten so good that he isn't even dropping much of it anymore. He also loves to sit on the ground and play with toys, mostly big trucks and boats that are Cody's. He dances to music, randomly waves sometimes and this morning when I was watching American Idol and clapping he started clapping too! He has been saying dada for a little while and he is a loud kid who sometimes starts yelling happily for no good reason lol. He still insists on being held quite a bit by me only but sometimes when I am making dinner he will just play on the floor with toys with no problems.

I am thinking of trying to get Miles to stop nursing in the night but there is honestly so much advice out there that I get overwhelmed trying to pick and choose which to follow. He generally wakes up 3 times a night for feedings so I am going to try to cut out one feeding at a time. After going to bed around 7:30 and being nursed before bed he usually wakes up to nurse again at 9:30-10 so I decided to cut out that feeding first. The past 3 nights I have just rubbed his tummy or back when he wakes up at that time and, to my amazement, he has gone back to sleep with no issues. So, I am going to keep doing that and hopefully he will stop waking up at that time. Once he does I can work on cutting out another feeding. Last night he woke up to nurse at 12 and 4:45 so I consider that a pretty good night right now. Hope my plan works! I haven't had a full night of sleep in 9 months!

We don't have many plans for this weekend besides buying a new camera since mine broke recently. Maybe I can convince Mike to do something else fun with me and the kids but I don't know what yet :) Happy long weekend! !
