Harrison was sick for the rest of the day yesterday, he couldn’t even keep water down and even puked up the single spoon of Calpol I gave him to try and bring his temperature down. Bless him, in the end he was dry heaving and crying, there was nothing left to bring up. I felt so sorry for him! He went to bed at 7pm and passed out pretty quickly. However, he then woke up crying every 30 minutes to dry heave again or bring up bile. Dave ended up spending the night with him. He said at 2am, Harrison got out of bed and started coming downstairs looking for a drink. Dave made him a drink with rehydration salts and let him have a couple of sips every 15 minutes or so and he kept it down! He hasn’t been sick since 2am and has had quite a lot to drink since then and is keeping it down, so it appears we’re past it! He doesn’t want anything to eat yet, but I’m not worried as long as he keeps drinking and keeping it down.

Aaaaannnnddd, I can’t believe I’m writing this, but Billy slept through the night in his own bed!!! 8pm to 5am, I didn’t hear a peep out of him! Lucky me, it’s my job to take care of Billy throughout the night as I’m the one with the boobs, so I got a full night of sleep for the first time in almost nine months! It would be nice if he stopped waking up at 5am, sometime between 6:00 and 6:30 would be perfect as that’s what time we’ll have to get up when I’m back at work. But a full night until 5am? I’ll take that for now, mustn’t grumble.

I hope Harrison gets better. Nothing is worse than a sick child.

What's rehydration salts?

Bomb Shell Canadian Lass ⋅ July 18, 2021

When you’re sick or have diarrhoea, you lose essential salts, sugars and electrolytes. Rehydration salts is a powder you dissolve into water to replace it.
