This pretty much describes my attitude to the way I do things nowadays:
Ed Seedhouse: My life experience is that we are all stupid from time to time. The larger stupidity here was allowing (creating) a circumstance in which stupid mistakes could be fatal. The universe occasionally imposes the death penalty for stupidity and the trick is to avoid circumstances where your inevitable small stupidities are likely to result in death or serious harm.
Note: the context is about yet another gun fatality, in this case a man who shot his nephew because he thought the gun wasn't loaded.
His 11 year old nephew. Whom he entertained by pointing the gun at his head and saying "oh, look you have a red dot there" and then pulling the trigger.
Guns have no brains. That's understood.
The trouble arises when their owners don't have them either.
