Getting real in Daily life

It is getting more real as the radiology department called me today to go over the port procedure Thursday. After I talked to them, I had a breakdown, I am scared.

I want to thank you all for your words. I have trouble responding to comments in that I write a reply but it won’t take so I have to go out, come back and try again.

Conniek’s comment about getting a chair lift for the second floor if needed, is what I told my son I would do as he is really against me getting a second floor apartment. My daughter is ok with it but again if it is only if I would I would need it and I don’t anticipate it. For one thing I would be in the middle of treatment when I would move. Second, my daughter and I are going to set up a little kitchen area in my bedroom at the house, if needed, with coffee pot, mini fridge, toaster. It started as a joke but then sounded like a good idea. Again we shall see.

You can make decisions as you go along. Your kids are trying to control something they can't control, but it is sweet that they care so much. :) Look, this is what I've learned: there are no right or wrong answers. Whichever way you decide to go is the right answer for you. There is no law saying you can't change your mind and go in a new direction any damn time you decide it's right. And there is no law that says you have to do it their way or my way or the man in the moon's way. After we lost Nick, some days I just wasn't up to doing certain tasks. I just shrugged and said, "Not doing it today."
From what I understood from my brother, he preferred his radiation weeks over chemo. He had to stay out of the sun but it gave him a break from the chemo.

Of course you're scared - who wouldn't be?! Deep breath, you got this and are going to kick ass.
Glad that your kids are concerned about you, but stay firm, don't let them run you over and talk you into doing things or not doing things. Obviously if you're trying something dangerous and they're trying to talk sense into you, then listen, but they aren't in charge of your decisions. Ok? Big Hug!!

It’s normal to be anxious. A chair lift is a great idea.
