The recent, supposedly "alarming" Israel Covid data is the media screwing you over - again! in Good lord, this is a book

So out comes a statistic that says: “60% of present Covid hospitalizations in Israel are among those fully vaccinated”. (which is true - *actually 59+ %) And they add to that: “Israel is among the most vaccinated countries on earth” (which is true, at upward of 78% of those above age 12 fully vaccinated).

But the part where they’re trying to alarm you and everyone else with that data, is purely misleading.

In a country where nearly 4 in 5 of those above age 12 are vaccinated, it would make sense that 4 in 5 in line at Starbucks, and 4 in 5 waiting to get their tires rotated are vaccinated too. Thus it would also be mathematically probable that 4 in 5 in any random hospital for any cause would be vaccinated as well.

What is noteworthy in this case is that ONLY 60% of those hospitalized for Covid are fully vaccinated

When broken-down for age and other factors, the exact same data is evidence that vaccines really ARE working in Israel as they are everywhere else. Of course they aren’t foolproof, but the mindset of anybody with any common sense would be to get both shots, and always wear a mask when indoors and around those outside of your usual bubble.

But don’t be concerned at all by the talk of “60% of those in Israel hospitalized for Covid have been fully vaccinated”. It is a non-story if ever there was one - yet a great example of how the media continues to delight in getting a rise out of anyone who might click.
