So apparently Eurovision is next week and when I heard it I was like what the fudge... isn't it always like in late May, or mid-month. Anyway, I listened to the songs today. So far don't have a favourite. The thing is most of the videos are just straight up music videos not a just a video of the performance. One of the things I learned is you can't truly judge a song before seeing it performed live. The performance adds its own element.

So I guess I'll write more about that next week.

Also, not sure if there's much point in trying to keep a reading journal if I don't post daily. But meanwhile here is what I have to say.

Yesterday we were on a roll. Because Peter the Great finally talked about something interesting, namely the flight of Tsarevich Alexis, I read four chapters instead of the usual two.

In The Shining there's nothing interesting so far to say. Creepy stuff happens but to be honest I think horror works best as a visual medium. We'll see I guess. The snow has arrived and the Torrance's are new truly isolated. They're revealed more as a family, just a regular loving family which just makes it worse that I sorta know how it ends (BADLY). What I still don't get is what did the doctor said "you know why he is called Tony but let Danny figure it out himself". Why? I don't get it. Is it like reference to Torrance. If not that then I'm totally puzzled. And what did that Hatfield kid mean, if we're on a subject of things that puzzle me about the book, when he said "you hate me because you know"? Know what? Is The Little School the answer?

Also I'm really glad I began to read On First Principles. I have learned a lot of interesting things and I've barely begun the book.
