To look or not to look in Daily life

Received two messages that there are new test results in my medical,chart online. Do I open them or not? The first dr’s nurse had said not to look but to wait til I would see the dr. The dr’s nurse that actually did the operation did not say anything at all. I see the dr in another week so do I look at the results and possibly freak out or do I wait?
EDIT so I did look at the test results, cannot really see anything, other than stating final report and see written report which I cannot access. The one preliminary report was good so I am not going to worry about it. I do know that the gynecologist had called me prior to surgery and confirmed the day of surgery that the bone marrow biopsy came back clearing me for surgery. I see the oncologist in about two weeks and I think he is going to suggest his original plan of monitoring my white blood count.

If they don't call right away, the news will probably be non-lethal. When it's a bad situation, they call to get you in right away.

Why wouldn't you look at the results if they are available to you? Are you unable to interpret results?

Yes, the nurse cautioned against looking at them because of not understanding the terminology.

That's ridiculous the internet exists if you don't know a word Google it if you don't understand the definition of the word then Google the words in the definition. The only reason it could be an issue is if you are making a determination about what the results say and diagnosing yourself but simply interpreting results is fine. Making a prognosis or diagnosis or trying to treat it yourself without medical assistance from a qualified individual could be a problem

I would not be able to NOT look. I would look and google all the words I didn’t understand. But that’s me! If you can wait for the doc to interpret that probably is the better plan.

I would be looking because if it's something you can attempt to fix like take a multi vitamin I would and you can also find more information and know what you have or don't have.

I always look before I go see the doctor. Sometimes I have questions about a report they don't address. But usually mine is just bloodwork so I know what they are going to say before I get there.
