A few days after my last entry, Miles finally got better. No more having a nose so full he could barely nurse or one that needs to be constantly wiped. Yay! And then he started to have times in the day and night where he was clearly teething, as he would pull off and scream when nursing or just have times where he was screaming in my arms and completely inconsolable. Fun lol. Luckily the camillia vials I have for teething seem to work and Tylenol sometimes at night helps. A few nights ago, when I was at my parents house, Miles was up in the night every hour. Oy! Luckily I was able to have a 2 hour nap that morning when Miles had his first nap. Oh and a 5th tooth popped out (4 on the bottom, 1 on the top now) but he still seems to be teething lately so I think more are on the way maybe. I can't remember if it stops hurting them once it breaks the skin or until it's all the way in.
Anyway, we spent Friday until Monday at my parents' house and it was a nice break since I don't have to cook or clean when I am there and they try to help with the kids even though Miles won't let anyone else hold him for more than a few minutes. My mom helped me give the kids a bath, we watched birds on their back porch and threw the ball around with Cody for a while. Cody loves playing hockey but now that baseball is on television, he wants to throw the ball around too. He puts Mike's hats on backwards and drags his huge glove around and throws the ball back and forth with whoever is around. My parents heard about that and bought Cody his own glove this weekend which he loves. He is a lefty too so it's nice for him to have a glove in his size and for the right hand. Mike was a bit upset that they bought it for him out of the blue though because he is a huge sports fan and has been teaching and playing sports with Cody so he wanted to be the one to give him his first glove.
On Saturday, my brothers, SIL, niece and husband went to my parents' house and we celebrated Easter. Cody always loves seeing his cousin, who is 5 now, so he had a great day running around with her and eating extra treats. I am a bit sad that she is the only cousin he will ever have but what can you do, right? We also hid some eggs for the kids and Cody did his first hunt. Everyone else had bought so much chocolate for the kids that I am glad we didn't buy any. I hate having chocolate in the house too because my willpower sucks when junk is so accessible. I am trying though and bought lots of fruit so we will see.
Cody is slowly learning new words these days but he is still majorly behind for his age. He probably knows around 10 words now and he turns 3 in July. He is starting to say the words he does know more though. He says "hi dada" a lot now which is big because he only recently put 2 words together like that. His words are: mama, dada, hi, oh, yeah, ow, nana (banana), hot, ball and nite. He also said "meow" the other day and roared like a lion. Baby steps lol. After being on the waiting list for the free community speech therapy for 5 months, I finally got the call yesterday to make an appointment. Yay! I want him to talk so badly. Sometimes it is so frustrating not knowing what he wants. A lady I know has a son the same age as Cody and she told me recently that after just a couple months in speech therapy her son went from saying almost nothing to talking a ton. That's so exciting! I can't wait until he can say his own name or I love you :)
