To The Moon, Alice in Life After 60

I have never understood why it was so important to land on the moon. And now we not only want to go back, (Like did we leave something there of value?) we want to go to Mars? Surely we can put that money to better use. But then we are dealing with the Government here, the one that brought us, Korea, Vietnam, and any other Police action they could dream up.
By my reckoning, we should own almost the whole dang world. We kicked Germany and Japan’s butts and then turn around and help them rebuild. Hello, we own you. But no we just give it back to them, bigger and better than before.
It’s a good thing England didn’t try that with the U.S. during the Revolutionary War. Wait, we won that one too, Dang it, we own them too. Of course, the Indians owned it before the white man came and screwed up the delicate balance. There are a few folks I wouldn’t mind seeing go to Mars!
