snail mail in keeping it postive

The post office is hurting since so many people use e-mail rather than snail mail. There's NOTHING like receiving a REAL letter or card in the REAL mailbox.

I send letters regularly to a friend in California. We used to be face to face friends, but in the past few years realized we rub each other the wrong way. Yet, we still send cards, letters, clippings, etc. I have a pen-pal in Ohio. We've been writing for over 20 years, yet have never met in person. I also send her cards and clippings and gifts. She came up with the idea of sending return address labels for me to put on the envelopes.

I think it's a GREAT idea! The envelope looks neater; I don't have to worry about getting the address right (or looking it up); AND I get all those extra return address labels OUT OF THE HOUSE.

So... just passing on a great idea.

I had thirty penfriends at one time, but alas they're isn't the time now. I'm down to one really. X

I had two foreign pen pals, my California friend, my Ohio friend and my parent... Whew. I was sneaky - I used to write all the letters on the computer... ONCE, then edit and print for each person. I REALLY got into it, adding colored clip art, LOTS of enclosures. I decorated the envelopes even. Sometimes you just don't WANT to share some informational tidbits with your parents, but with friends it's okay, so I'd edit them out for my folks. I wrote a letter each week whether or not I'd gotten one. I guess that's where my OCD was expressed... LOL.

I lost track of the international friends, my parents have both died, so I send letters to two people in the USA... regularly and one in England... rarely. Whew, the postage to England is HIGH!!
