Wild Weather in Random Thoughts

Yesterday it just didn’t quit. I guess between monsoon seasons, I tend to forget a little bit about how crap it really is here. It rained non-stop yesterday, and not quite the usual mist - a bit heavier. And it was windy as hell. I don’t get wind storms like that around here often. The neighbors borrowed my carport to fix their truck, and I ended up having to put the door down to stop the wind whipping through. It was a bit nuts. After they were done, I put the van back, and took the truck out for a bit. Trees blown down all over the place.

It’s not that I don’t like the rain. I do. Just not THIS rain. This rain just sits and pisses for hours on end.... or sometimes days. It’s like an guy with a bad prostate, it’s just never done, and it’s usually at a very low flow. No, that’s not a commentary on my physical condition. All my parts work just fine, despite lack of use. I miss the rain in Texas. It would show up in 15-30 minutes, dump buckets in minutes, thunder and lightning, the whole nine yards, then it’s gone just as quickly as it started. Plus, rain that heavy sounds really nice on a metal roof. This rain on my metal carport just sounds like a busted white noise generator.

The sun came out today. Guess that’s what all the rain was about, just had to get it out of its system. I don’t have much to do today. Thankfully. It’s been nice to recharge. Just going to pick up a few things at the store, and do laundry. My mind, however is not here, which is why I need to get off the computer. Can’t focus on this. Hope everyone had a good new year.
