I quit facebook 3 days ago. Sometimes I find my fingers still searching for the app on my phone, or typing “fa” and expecting it to autofill in the URL. It’s a good reminder on why I left.
A friend realized I quit and decided to call me. We talked for an hour. It was really nice to reconnect and we made plans to do zoom improv with puppets in January. I’m really looking forward to it.
Im going to a friend’s house to make Christmas cookies on the weekend. She is the only friend I’ve seen in person since March. I resisted a long time, but then my thoughts got dark and no contact became unbearable. So I decided to just limit my risk to a single friend.
My brother has started to text my personal number. That feels nice, too. Like a rewind. Im feeling more human.
I think it was a good move.
