Write about five (5) problems you have with social media.

1 - DoomScrolling is a real thing, especially when you’re prone to anxiety. I can get caught up in what seems like a never-ending cycle of bad news and feel trapped and awful.
2 - People try to present their best selves, but this can end up making other people feel like garbage because their life isn’t Insta-perfect, even if logically we all know it’s just appearances.
3 - For some reason, people will harshly espouse opinions on social media that they would never be as aggressive/judgmental about in person or on other platforms. This is why I don’t follow my brother, who I love very much, on Facebook; when I did, it made me crazy.
4 - People who crave attention can be even more obnoxious on social media. A former friend actually became a former friend when she asked me why I wasn’t liking her posts on Facebook. (That was just the straw that broke the camel’s back.)
5 - I rely on it too heavily to stay in touch with people. I’ve had a few friends get off social media in the past year or so, and while I understand and respect their decisions, I’ve sadly lost touch with one because I rely on social media as my primary form of interacting with friends on a daily basis. I really should text her, she’s very nice and I enjoy her company, even though we were never very close.

Woke up to good news this morning - it looks like Trump has finally given up, even if he won’t officially concede. It’s about damn time.

5 is why I’m still on Facebook. Without it, I’d lose touch with the vast majority of my friends. Probably all of them.

Omg....my cousin (37 yrs old with 2 kids), who grew up in middle class white suburbia regularly pretends she's hood, and takes an abnormal amount of only what I can describe as...about to go clubbing selfies, with filters and these cliche sayings on them about how beautiful she is.

Then there's the slew of Trump supporting cousins that pollute my news feed with fallacies. It was nice when Biden won....they didn't say peep and my Facebook started looking normal again.

Wow...I'm sorry for the long note. I really didn't expect to have strong feelings about this, but clearly I was wrong. Lol!
