Pulling the plug in Life as we know it

We've had a mystery of late concerning data usage on the home system. The provider notified us we exceeded the limit the first month we had our iPhones, which also was just after Dour quit his job and retreated to his cave.

We upped the limit, but this month was told we'd exceeded the higher limit. In fact it was so far over it would exceed the limit if we upped the plan to the highest level.

Candi asked the IT guy at work. He rattled her big time, telling her it can't possibly be anything we're doing (her and I), nor our smartphones. Has to be either someone hacking into the wi-fi or Dour downloading stuff. He said the usage on even the lowest days exceeds what the entire large (for here) firm uses overall in a day by quite a bit.

When we went over the first time, Dour reset the wi-fi so it would admit only the IP addresses for our particular devices.

That seems to limit it to his use as the culprit. He wears a T-shirt he bought from Pirate Bay. He has a Pirate Bay T-shirt. The IT guy said it probably is Dour illegally downloading movies, and lots of them. Even constant gaming wouldn't use that much, he said.

He advised we "pull the plug." Cut off the internet service.

I told her that works for me. We can go elsewhere to use internet. Our phones aren't even hooking up to our wi-fi most of the time, and we both have laptops. I just asked we don't do it until I have a chance to get our computer gear out and someplace he can't get at it.

Just a feeling I have, based on what I've heard about his actions when he's been angry in the past.

So, in the wake of a day when I posted two entries here, I'm losing easy internet access. Figures!

Gotta eat lunch and then quietly outload the gear.
