i cant believe its finally april. april is full of finishing up planning for my wedding!
finally found a hair dresser! a little more expensive than i wanted, but at least i found someone local that will come to the hotel with a team :) going for my hair trail the same day we are headed upstate for our food and cake tasting. 3 appointments in one day, thats how i do things!
people at work keep asking about the wedding and wanting to look at pictures and things. its been nice. we went out for happy hour last night (which ended up being like 5 hours lol). its been great to get to know the other teachers and enjoy other things than teaching with them. its nice to have real connections with my coworkers. im glad they care!
next weekend my sister, maid of honor and i will be finishing up the invitations. they will be in the mailbox on 4/14!! the weekend after that is my bachelorette party and the following monday is my dress fitting. sigh i just cant believe its all here...its getting surreal and exciting and scary all at once. im just going to be happy once its june :)
there's only a few things left to do (besides the things i already listed)
- men need to get fitted for their tuxes
- mom, my other sister and one of my bridesmaids need to put together care packages for the guests since everyone is traveling. they will consist of some snacks, a thank you card, the CD favor, water and maybe hand sanitizer. i need to buy those bags...
- final meeting with my wedding coordinator the friday before to finalize the big day
- i need to check with my mother-in-law to see whats going on with the honey moon
- put together the CD favors (need to buy CDs and cases)
- rehearsal dinner
- pay photographer, reverend, DJ, florist and venue (really, remind our parents about these costs except the reverend. so thankful they have paid for our day!)
- finalize jewelry/shoes with my bridesmaids
- find records for the center pieces and put them together (there is going to be a picture of a 1950s band on the table to tell guests where they are going to be seated)
- seating arrangement (ugh)
- the big day!
its just getting so close...actually thinking about it is making me a little anxious lol. and its not the marriage part. im so happy and excited to be marrying dann. we're really awesome together. one thing im stressed about is that we havent moved yet (but should have a money answer TODAY!! no matter what, he will have his raise by the end of next week!!) and the fact that my job is stressful. i cannot wait until this fundraiser and concert are over!! then i can relax a little about teaching. yes, i still need to go to work and be the best teacher i can be, BUT i can actually TEACH the fun things i want to teach. i can catch up on whatever i feel theyve missed out on. aaaand i just remembered i have that assessment test to give AND we're performing at a HUGE gala in june...plus the 3 graduation ceremonies...sigh it just never ends! lol but at least most of that will be review of things we're already done, so it wont be as stressful.
im hoping to have the best wedding. i think i will. i put on a great party! really hoping my wedding coordinator can make the adult milkshakes happen...that would be awesome and such a great treat for my guests! something different. and of course they could have a regular milkshake if they wanted. but my DJ is great and i think our theme is fun and we're really finding things that make it entertaining and really us.
alright, gotta get going on these lesson plans! id much rather be watching more HGTV though...later!
