we ended up getting back to union station just in time to catch the metrolink home and my other outing. had planned to meet some friends for lunch at 1. i walked in my garage at 12:30. showered and then was out again. got to her house and her husband answered the door saying she called about half an hr ago saying she was at lunch. ummm....wtf. apparently, while i was out the night before with a dead battery there were texts asking to make the lunch later or postpone. little did i know. so anyway, he called her and somehow it was all worked out that we met our other friend at her nephew's baseball game close by. we ended up going to lunch and it was tasty.

now the event for saturday was an 80's birthday party for a coworker. got my two friend's from lunch to give me some ideas. ended up going with the 80's prep look since it was easiest. went to goodwill and got a bright pink polo and a whiteish sweater.

got back to my place about 7:15. was going to pick eric and his wife up to go together at 8. rushed to get ready (notice a theme?) and headed out.

so i ended up with khakis, dressish shoes, the polo (with a popped collar of course), and the sweater draped over my shoulders.

we got there about 9:15 (started about 8) and had a good time. we stayed till about 12:30 since i was driving and exhausted. it's always fun to see people from work in their natural habitat (aka, not work).

strange but true: one coworker brought his girlfriend's friend who i...took care of?...at the holiday party at his place. it was a little awkward, but didn't ruin the night.

and now, my day tomorrow started off somewhat relaxed, but had become pretty busy.

it's funny to think how much i get along with colleagues. we all mesh well together and heaven forbid, actually want to spend time with each other outside of work!
