Hello Strangers in Muddling Through As Best I Can

It’s been forever since I made an entry and so much has been going on! I lost my account here when my last laptop when up in flames, figuratively speaking and just recovered the account.
Let’s see....last entry I posted that my youngest son and his wife were splitting up. Well, they patched things up and are doing well now. My eldest foster-daughter Kelly is now living on my property as well, so I have a little family compound going. Love having them all close, EXCEPT....
I retired from the prison system and took a job in West Texas, approximately 600 miles from my home near Houston. I work and live in the Midland, TX area for 6 weeks, and then go home for two.. They provide room and board, so it’s a great money saver.
I do miss my kids and having grandchildren underfoot though.
Still trying to get my home housing situated to my liking. I’ve been in an RV for two years while I tried to save money, and hopefully I’ll be set by this year’s end to proceed to get my paw-paw house going, lol. I want to pay cash and not go into any more debt to do this thing, so I had to be patient. Patience is definitely not my strong suit.
Anyway, I’m hoping to reconnect with everyone here and see what you all have had going on the last year or so.
